Will another 2Gig RAM make any noticeable difference? 32Bit to 64Bit

Turns out my old macbook (4,1) can handle up to 6Gig RAM, I am currently 4Gig RAM. This will cost me about $100. Currently I am on Lion (10.7.4 I believe) in 32 Bit mode. I seem to have problems booting into 64Bit mode since I went from Snow Leopard to Lion but apparently there is a patch to correct this I can do. Question is, is it worth it assuming I can go 64Bit? I seem to have issues running some plugins and my CPU gets quite high. I'd just hate to spend the $100 or so and only get a marginal benefit and loose access to 32bit plugins.

Any insight appreciated.
 
Open up a decently sized project in your daw and check the task manager to see how much of your current ram memory it's using and how much you have left. I wouldn't recommend buying more ram just for the hell of it if it turns out you still have 30% or more of it left unused.
