Wide fat synths.

Should one oscillator be mono, then two panned hard right and left? and should they all be the same synth? Should the big reverb be on the wide synths and less on mono from presence? I'm having trouble with a wide heavy synth.

- Detune osc's
- Play multiple octaves/chords
- Slight negative pitch modulation
- Use sausage fattener, reverb, phaser and flanger plugins (and others)
- Place a LFO on the mod env -.03 or so, (detuned <1%)
- Pan one synth L/R, place another in the center

All in all, you just need to play around with all this stuff to really understand how it works. It's easy to read what I just wrote and hope that it's the magic key to success, but I promise it won't be. Practice makes perfect (and teaches you what works and what does not).
