Why Do Hip Hop/Rap Fans Hate Positive Music?

Its not that listeners don't want or care about positivity, its just that listeners don't want to feel as if they're being preached to. Listeners want positivity they can relate to presented in a way they can relate to.

You could disagree, but then you'd be disagreeing with the idea of unwavering loyalty, which is what the song is about. Is loyalty not something people should celebrate in song?

Drake's "Started From The Bottom" was a positive song. He talked about how he struggled and came up in the game. That is what people want to hear. Positivity equals success. If you are trying to be positive without showing your success, you are wack. That's just how the game goes. Winners want to hang with winners.
