To me it's originality overall; specifically I'd say the rhythm.

It's true lol.. I feel like it's our job to make that music.

i dont think its so much making the music but getting some attention on it.. iv heard good music from late 2000 but it aint really gettin played like it should an the people that listen to that type of music aint hearin it.. idk what **** is goin on its like everybody's tryna do the same thing.... DAMN DAMN DAMNNNNNN!! jk but for real

Well every rap and rnb song on the radio these days has a techno beat.

So my guess would be to start producing dance, techno, house or whatever the hell they call it these days. Just terrible.

yo juicy that beat is dope bro, and i believe that with beats these days i think if you stray from the norm it actually helps .

what makes a beat "hot" is your opinion of it. Your idea of hot is probably (more than likely) different than mine. If there was one common denominator that made something hot, every song would use it in it's formula therefore making everything hot.
Shit, now I've turned music into a mathematical equation. Excuse me while I go play some football and suppress the nerd in me by crippling somebody.

just because it's original won't make it hot

make a beat where the snares take the place of the kicks and vice-versa...now add a sample of a baby being aborted (never been done before); the sound of dripping water in the place of a bassline...now go down to your local 7/11 and record the homeless guy mumbling about the government for vocals= 100% ORIGINAL
did that make it hot?

who's going to really do that though, when i meant being original i mean doing stuff other producers don't sad to say, i have done a little bit of what other producers have done in my production, but who wants to hear a repetition in a song, being original is what makes a beat sound so live, like perhaps aston martin music, it took possibly 6 instrument tracks to make such a beautiful track, they were being plain and original.

To me a really dope beat has a great melody, amazing drums to fit the melody, and is mixed good.

Knowing what vibe you are creating through the beat...creating the next be sound too

to me its being able to capture the mood of the song youre trying to make by using sounds and melodies that compliment it.

Commercial songs has 4/4 beats, that makes people want to dance.
But do you really want to compose such thing?
