what is sound forge best for?

Depends on who you are, if you're Burial it is best for creating one of the best albuns of the last century...

Soundforge is an audio editor. Much like Wavelab and a few more. Cubase, Logic and Sonar on the other hand are Multi-track recorders and Midi Editors. You should really try to read the manuals at least, even if you obviously didn't buy the software.

I've been using soundforge for years.. i use it to bring a single vocal track in and add effects to certain vocal parts and to edit vocal parts of single tracks... I also use soundforge to master the final render, bounce, or mixdown ... and the best thing about soundforge is that i can make sample loops out of any track i wish. I'll bring in some 70's music and pull out some samples of drums and then upload it in acid pro as a loop.. i can sample ALLLLLLLLLLL day ...
