i wanna sell my pcv 275 to upgrade to a real 'scratch' mixer, but it may only be in the budget to get a hak 300 and not a 320. is the 300 still way better than the pcv 275? i want to make sure that if i got through all the trouble to sell my current mixer and get anew on, i will be extremely pleased in the end. so give me some input.

Wait a little, keep using the PCV-275, practice your beatmatching and mixing skills. You've only had it for a few months right? I'm not sure how much you can get out of it but justify the money spent by actually using it for a while. Save up, it may take as long as a year, doesn't matter: do some yard work, mow the grass, get a job, etc. When you got $600 or so buy a top of the line scratch mixer like a HAK 360, Rane TTM-56.. maybe consider a Stanton SA-8, or Vestax PMC-07, or whatever else is out there at the time (Thud Rumble's new mixers? Dj Infamous' new mixer?) Then you probably won't need to upgrade for a while. The HAK-300 is not only discontinued but it's inferior to the HAK-360 and the HAK-320. You will be extremely pleased in the end.

so the hak 320 is better than the 360....alrite. is it a smarter idea to get the hak 320 or a rane 56. i know the 56 is more expensive, but is its price appropriate for its features?

Eh? I didn't say the HAK-320 is better, I think the 360 seems better because of its fader, the Eternal fader which is like th Rane's magnetic fader. On the Ecler v Rane decision, it's extremely tough and each has its bonuses. If you look around enough I'm sure you can find the Rane's price to be down around 600 some dollars and the Ecler around $600. The Rane has all magnetic faders, ups and cross and the effects system is very functional and the eq is powerful. The Ecler has more customizable fader positions, powerful eq, and the Ecler PROfaders as its ups, which is the crossfader in the 320. I think it eventually comes down to personal choice I guess, I'm currently making the same decision and I need to try both of them out to make a choice.

errrrr...............................

the 360 is the updated 320..........and its better.

the 360 has the new fader technology on the cross, and yes, pro faders on the up, which are basically only 'new' pcvs anyway...the 320 just had reg ecler pcvs in before.

the ecler DOESNT have more customisable fader curves, the rane does however....

the rane DOESNT actually have any effects sytem at all.....it has a send / return feature so that u can plug in fx processors....but so does the ecler.....(but it isnt as good as the ranes)

if your in europe, which phish, u arent...go for the ecler...

if your in america, which you are phish, go for the rane. :)

theyre both the last mixers youll buy for a very long time!

to stop the confusion about these things, check out the websites, ive put some links below.

ECLER HAK MODELS

RANE TTM 561

oh yeh...and phish.....i think u mean the 310 model, and not the 300. (which is also on the above link.)

peas

yea thats what i meant, i'll probably just save up for the rane cuz the ecler is near impossible to find in the us.

Better doesn't necessarily mean more advanced. The cost-performance ratio is important too. It depends on you if you consider hundreds of dollars to be worth an upgraded fader and other amenities. Now, between a Stanton/Numark and an Ecler/Rane, paying the extra money is well worth it. However between two Eclers? It's not as if the 320 is inferior or anything, there'd be more difficulty in deciding.

My bad, I had read some where that the Ecler's cut in point was adjustable on the fader while to adjust the Rane's cut in point you had to do an internal modification or something, guess I was wrong. By effects sytem, yes, I was talking about the FlexFX, I should have put "effects send" guess I worded it wrong.

Phish, I wouldn't buy a mixer just dependent on where you live. If you really want to be sure of your mixer decision go somewhere and try them both out first. Then after some experience pick the one which best suits you.

There's a HAK-300, HAK-310, HAK-320, and HAK-360.

of course the 320 is inferior to the 360?!?!

theres a load of shizz thats better on the 360......

buying a 320, or a 300, over a 360 / 310 would be plain backwards....

here in the uk, the rane is notriously difficult to get parts for, and as a result, theres very few places that actually like to stock it...

i know ppl in the states that have the same problems with the ecler.....so......

also, the rane here is 600 quid.....where u guys are, its 600 bucks or so.....so its nearly twice as expenisve here.....

the 360 u can get in the uk for about 330 quid....im not sure how much they are in the states.

ive got a 360 myself, before that i had a 320. i have friends who have the rane........depends what u get used to, i guess.

if your not inclined either way, id suggest u get the rane, more curve patterns, u can apply the X to the ups, all magnetic faders, better send / return features....

put it this way, dj woody is part of the ecler team, excess uses a rane.......

what more endorsement do u need for either of them? :)

unless ur chuffin d-styles or sumfing...i wouldnt worry too much, theyre both ****!n dope....

peace!
