UA 710 and turntable

I’m trying to run my turntable through my preamp but I’m only getting one side of the signal (mono) I have my turntable running into one of those “Y” cables into the hi-z input of the preamp and the output of the preamp into my interfaces line input. Am I missing something? I’m new to outboard gear. I can post pictures if it makes it easier to see the set up but I feel this is an easy fix either I can’t get stereo or I can. Thanks for all the help guys and gals. .

It's a mono preamp. No way around that, except buying another one (or recording both channels separately & combining them in the DAW).
