Where can i find some hot brass vsts like some young jeezy brass you know that trap sound. Thanks for your help I dont care about the price i just cant find nothing with good brass.

layer your brass because that's pretty much what the producers do.. layers different brass instrument a vst is not going to magically make your brass sound like theres.

is there a way to layer sounds without creating a new track and playing that same sequence? I use ableton 8 live

for the young jeezy brass just use hypersonic 2. for some realistic sounding ish i'd recommend edirol orchestral vst, or something like that i forget the name

try to increase the attack time on some of the brass instruments as well as the decay. a lot of cool sounding brass can be achieved when you do this. layer about 3-5 brasses as well. add reverb too. make sure you get some low brass in there and some high brass in there. stacking your melody in different octaves can help with this or just adding a deep tuba or trombone section can help as well.

gotta love those brass instruments!!!

Orchestra Brass or Brass Sections.
Layer them and use reverb and flanges or doublers.

im new to producing so how exactly do you layer your brass ?

nexus with the dance orchestra expansion

cosign to the fullest...u talkin bout those stakkato brass patches, i layer one of those with hypersonics ultimate brass section, and then sometimes add a orch hit from hypersonic

None of these methods will get the sound your looking for. Similar, but nowhere close. These brass samples are real tight and bright. Thinking your gonna need a workstation to pull these off.

Seriously, do yourself a favor. Go out and get any decent realistic sound library with brass (I use East West Silver but you can use Miroslav or even Edirol) and just spend 20-30 minutes layering. You need at LEAST 5 different patches all playing with different pitch zones, panning, tuning, eq, etc. It takes some time to set up but once you're done just save it as a preset.

I have great layered presets in all my VST's that I use constantly (with tweaking them a bit every time to keep it original).

yeah like everyone said lol, layer your shit man it'll definately give you a fuller sound. once you've got that down, eq'ing and adding a lil' reverb will give your brass a nice touch

SMH @ all this.

1st response shoulda been a question...

"What do you use to make beats?"

Reason? Go to the Factory bank under "All Instruments" click on "Brass", done.

Hypersonic, Kontakt, Eastwest Symphony Instruments, MachFive, Halion, Edirol Orchestral, ect/Workstation Keyboard? got to "Brass" Presets Done.

Purity and other more synthetic sounding vsti synths(Including Nexus, sorry) can get the job done, but won't sound as convincing as brass in some souther tracks(while sounding exactly like the brass in others)without alot of tweaking and focus on playing the right note to articulate you sound. But it still can be done.

So many downsouth brass songs have been done in FL Studio that suggesting a workstation is the only way to get the sound is laughable. Layering and overlays are a plus and the only sensible advice given in this thread being that every and any brass patch sound can be used to make a dirty south brass section. it's not rocket science. you don't even need a HQ Sampled library. Dirty South Brass does not equate to the Brass Section in the London Symphony Orchestra.

Just find the 1st brass patch you can. Add Reverb and a little EQ if needed, and play that shyt. You'll be fine.

Layer the brass, EQ, reverb. Make your own brasses. Whether it's a VSTi, soundfont, or a combination of both!
