Tony Screw is taken to hospital in critical condition last wednesday. Tony screw, the legendary main selector and owner of the Studio 1 sound Downbeat the Ruler had to cancel his appereance on the Downbeat European tour that would start next week.
Downbeat is gonna play all dates with the second man on the sound; Fingers who came especially from NY to europe to keep the dates.
For those who don't know Downbeat, it's the sound that made studio 1 from the small restaurant sound in the 50's to the main reggae company off today, with the mother of Coxonne as first Selector. It's the sound that made the ska, rocksteady and reggae popular in jamaica. It featured all big jamaican reggae artist and has endless dubbox of al jamaican main artists incl some of the artist that really nobody can have.
I wish papa screw a fast recovery.
