"Cons: the 1/4 sockets are unbalanced" - Please explain?
It all comes down to this, everything else in my DAW is all dandy, appart from the soundcard, now i must decide on Yamaha Sw1000xg or a card of a similar price which will enable me to record vocals straight into the card complete with a preamps and gain control. In a perfect world i could have both straight away, however this does not apear to be possible? or is it?
SoundTrack Audio DSP24 + ADC&DAC2000 by "HoonTech" [http://www.hoontech.com] looks good, but doesnt apear to have gaincontrol, and besides i've never heard of it.. does anyone have any information on the cards in concern or maybe some advice for an alternative? I have 2 days. someone help please!

One more thing, i just read a review of the second card the Hoontech one, and its only flaw apparently is "Cons:
- ¼" sockets are unbalanced " maybe u could tell me what this means Mano if your out there.
