Anybody use these ?

How do the Technics compare to the Sony's ?

Hehehe... I own both, and for me they are both dope phones, top rigs no doubt. Heavy bass, good overall responses, sturdy construction, nice features: gold plated connectors (2 sizes), spiraled wiring, tough cords, smooth fit. The DJ1200 has smaller cups and tighter fit (bothers some), but a better punch. The Sony has a comfy fit, excelent sound but IMO it's too heavy - but then u get used to it pretty fast. I highly recommend both.

I am actually looking at the Technics RP-DJ1210's rather than RP-DJ1200's. Do you know if these are as good or better than the 1200's ?

Technics tell me that the 1200's have been discontinued in the UK as they are replaced by the 1210's.

That's the reason why I bought the Sony MDRV-700DJ, because the fitment of the Technics bothers me. I have no problems with Sony's. Both sound excellent

For loud club situations I like to use the Technics. They seem to have a more powerful bass sound. I prefer the Sonys in the studio where I can hear myself think. I think the MDRs have a more accurate sound to them as well, but studio quality sound isn't the most important thing when you have 9000 watts of screaming acid trance pumping in your face. Still, either one is the Porshe of DJ headphones, and it always feels good plugging 'em in at a party.
