Subwoof low pass filter?

I just bought a subwoof and noticed it had a low pass filter ranging from 50-125hz or so. Is there a normal range that people set it to for dance music production? Or since my monitors go down to 44hz, should I set the low pass filter on the woof to 50hz?

I would recommend getting a cross-over to fine tune the adjustments. A low pass filter can help, but speakers aren't really designed to be full range and have another speaker just low-passed. A crossover will be best for audio monitoring purposes. I take it you acquired a home theater sub as opposed to a studio monitoring subwoofer? These aren't really meant for monitoring purposes.
