Sp 404 - Fl Studio

Can I use both these things to make beats without a midi controller. I've seen some videos where they would record beats with the sp 404 straight 2 their DAW. I might have answered my own question. But I just want some clarification.

Yep. what you want to do will work. The result will be better with an audio interface though. They are pretty cheap now luckily.
You can get one for $30-$50 nowadays.
