S/PDIF Mbox2 Question

Just looking for some knowledge on using the spdif outputs on the mbox2 as extras inputs for recording,can you use both for two different instruments or is it only 1 in and 1 out? also in pro tools what do u assign to the IN for a track if you want to use the spdif outputs? also wondering if you need a digital to analogue converter to use it for a bass guitar or an electric? any thing at all would be helpful thanx guys!

That's actually the best help. If you would have read this you wouldn't have ask this question. In short no. SPDIF is a digital input/output. You can only connect this to other SPDIF connections.
