Reference Track Playlist...???

I know people bring their own tracks and other professionally produced tracks to audition monitors and hardware at their local music store to try and assess the hardware's frequency range, dynamic range and overall sound quality....

1. What kind of tracks/genres/styles should a newbie have in their phone/ipod to audition gear/monitors...???

2. Should you try and get as many songs that cover most of the genres/styles you will be working in...??? ( For ex. EDM, Bass, Hip Hop etc.)

3. Should you also have some songs that are 'NOT' your intended style/genre....but obviously help to showcase certain frequencies/instruments/vocals etc...??? (For ex. The Beatles, Orchestral, Jazz, Classical etc.)

4. Any track/playlist suggestions for help in assessing certain frequencies/instruments...???
