Greetings.
I just finished mixing a song and am pleased with it overall, but what bothers me is that my vocals have hissing/static/air. I have a shure sm58 hooked into a pre-amp/mixer and I run the mic line from that into my computer's mic input. I don't have a line-in port (only two speaker ouputs and microphone input). I use a wav editor to reduce a majority of the hiss, but enough remains that it is noticeable. This leads me to believe that there is a problem in the initial recording.
My question is, how do I reduce the remaining hiss/air from my vocals without making the vocals inaudible all together? I thought about another sound card ( i use the factory card) but wanted to see if there are other ways....as I don't have $200 to spare right now. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it. Peace and blessings.
