Record On FL Studio Without Stopping The Beat ?

Hey i have FL Studio 10, my question is how do i record melodies, drum patterns, leads, etc without stopping the beat ?

Let me explain...

I want to be able to play the beat, while its looping & to be able to hit the record button on my midi controller without stopping the whole beat.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. While its playing & i hit the record button, the recording is enabled (without the beat being stopping) and i can record

Is there a function or setting i have to switch for it to work (record without stopping the beat) all the time ?

Right click on the record button at the top and make sure score is selected and only score.

Then you just hit record and jam along.

Also if you hit the little '1 2 3' button near the transport control that gets rid of your metronome count in. So as soon as you hit record it jsut record right there and then no count in.
