Ok, I think I will sell my pmc 07 pro isp( the reason is that it's a perfect mixer but I don't use it to its 100% ; I don't really need the quadraphonic sound, who requires 2 amps , and I don't use effects on my scratches, so the effect send&return part on the mixer is of no use 4 me)
The "problem " is that they took off the phono /line switch4 the Q4 joystick and the mic 4 the effect send&return part.I really miss those 2 things .My choice is either a PMC 07 PRO or a PMC 07 PRO D samurai series. What do you guys think.Let's settle this now, don't talk to me about Rane 'cause I really like the vestax' " feeling" , and we can't find Rane in France ( or hardly).
Also don't ask me about my budget, cause I'm a lucky bastard and a friend of mine owns a shop ( in a tax free zone) and get me really good prices .Anyway , the main problem is that I dunno of the digital fader of the samurai series ( although I tried it and that the feeling is great...)...so anyone can help?
:D

How much are you sellin it for?

also..the samurai series are pretty cool..if you can afford it go for it..i would love to have one

I'm selling my ISP for 915 euros..I would eventually lower the price....
My main question is really about the digital fader...it is supposed to last long...is is really?..'cause the pcv fader's pretty banging ( one year and a half and still doing well while being ripped really often....)
..

I've heard alot of mixed responses about the "Samurai" with digital fader. From what I've seen of it on the ads for it, it looks indestructable. I've seen them filling a cup up of Coke and putting the fader in it, and the thing still works and they're cutting a tune whilst the fader is in the cup of Coke. But on the other hand I've heard alot of people complaining about how they've had to have their faders replaced again and again and they have'nt even had it that long. You should try typing in your mixer name up in the search engine up the top of the page and read what other people have to say about it.Hell, even e-mail them and ask for a one on one review of it.

it's not a digital fader...

it's magnetic... on the samurai...

the main difference i've heard is the the adjustable curve on the regular 07 is smooth, where the samurai has only four presets... i know someone who took their samurai back because they didn' t like the choices on the xfader...

i'd try it out cuz the fader will last soooo long... but both are amazing mixers...

Ive heard soooooo many people say that the samurai series is really bad for turntableism in general. There are many presets that use the technology to make interesting sounds/rythems, instead of the turntableists skill. If you ask me, sure tthe fader may be great (I used one the other day at a local shop) but the reprocusions on a younger generation of tablist (such as myself) could be detremental. I would stay away from them alltogether or use a lot of will power and stay away from the presets, but if you were to do that, then why buy the samurai at all? Just my 2 cents.

Ya a lot of people refer to it as "cheating" ...because there are modes where all u have to do is move the fader back and forth and it sounds like your crabbing...

but it could be cool to play with..u just wudnt wana use it all the time..

the samauris are a complete rip-off

for much cheaper you can get the much better ecler hak360 - its built better, the fader is better, it sounds better, it costs much less - its a no brainer!

they layout is perfect too

check it out

yeah a friend of mine got one of the numark's with digital fader with cheat crabbing... its kinda cool, but weird. its got some flanging fx n stuff that apply more the faster/farther you move the fader and then stop applying the fx when you stop movin the fader, its pretty spiffy, but too out there for my tastes. if you want a nice magnetic fader thats fully contourable, great feel, indestructible, and incredible warranty, go for the Rane TTM-56 if ya can afford it ;)

the quick rane plug aside(sorry, theyre based out of a town 20 minutes out from seattle, hometown plug), ive heard nasty things about the samurai faders as well, they may be magnetic but they dont seem to stand up to the rigorous abuse as well as the 56 faders. i would go with either an ecler since they may be easier to find on that side of the Pond, or possibly even a numark if youre really lookin for that crazy contour presets for the fader. until vestax makes a magnetic or digital fader, youre pretty much stuck lookin at other brands if you dont wanna have to continually replace the fader though i would think.

the fader on the samurai series IS digital, and not magnetic.

and theyre pretty good......but.....just same ol' vestax isnt it?

well it has stuff like the 'auto-crab' where it turns one click into multiple clicks doesnt it? other than those x-fader presets it seems like a gimped vestax

gimped vestax indeed!!

anyone whos STILL unsure about this mixer....just look on the website!!! theres effin loads of info on theze on the web!

poieceace.

First of all , thanx to ya'll 4 the answers.
I think I made up my mind on a regular 07.
I don't think the difference in prices is really justified just 4 the new fader.Plus I really like the feel of the PCV fader...the Ecler new fader is really horrible ( way too light 4 me..) and RAne in France is really expensive ( plus they 're ugly...but it is said to be a really goosd mixer).Anyway , I'm Vestax lover so this is it .PMC 07 Pro.
There again thanx 4 the answers.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand u're question ( I'm trying to do my best w/ my english...sorry..lol)
If it's concerning the price of the ISP, being justified compared to the 07, definitely no.But as I explained earlier, I bought it for the price of a 07 ( some friend owning a shop..) so I gave it a try.
Now don't misunderstand me; it's a crazy mixer..it's just I 'm not using it to its 100%..and I really miss tyhe phono /line switch.
Anyway I'm not even sure this was the answer u expected...lol

No It was my fault sorry, I was confused, I forgot you already had the ISP version, Sorry about that. guess next time I should try and remember how the post started. opps.

Good choise by the way, you wont be disapointed.

Late reply, but just to let you know - the Coke trick was done to the Rane TTM56 crossfader, not the Vestax Samurai Crossfader.

Actually the digital refers to the signaling from the fader to the rest of mixer as opposed to analog. The fader is also magnetic, which refers to how the mixer tracks the position of the cross fader relative to the fader body.

ok..funny this old thread reapears.lol..anyway..at the time being I haven't changed my ISP...I'm waiting for the PMC 007 to arrive in France....glad I didn't change..cause the 007 seems really tight..plus I like the design ( will fit perfectly in-between my PDX's)..
