The Wave Traveller plugin for FL Studio (Fruity Loops) allows you to manipulate sound in the same manner as scratching a record on a turntable. Are there any other plugins that are capabale of doing this ? Or is there a public version of wave traveller that is not locked to FL.

dont know of any. why not use fl and then import the sample? or rewire?

Breal, i refuse to do searches for others! LoL everyone on this site has access to the same internet as we do. If u can't use google, u shouldn't be doin this. Now tell him he owe u points off his first placement. LoL

ok , i am confused. Is anyone talking about the same topic I am ??

If you hear modern radio versions of music (mainly rap music) - to edit out the cuss word, they use the brake pedal stop effect in the same means a turn table would. I am thinking I can do the same by drawing the ramp down in Wave Traveller (using a wav sample of the cuss word)

I have not tried using the VST to RTAS adapter to convert the Wave Traveller .DLL but will soon. If not I need to know how are they doing it now , and what other plugins can acheive this

What I gotta do everything for people.
How do you people find anything.

Sorry, I read the other responses first ... in my searches for a plugin, i did not use the word "Scratch" (and I thank you for that!!!) I was using words like "turntable" and "Brake Pedal" etc..

I am reviewing the results now and they look promising!! i will let you know soon..

THANKS IN A BILLION TONS OF PLATINUM !!!

OK so I tried the VST's in the google search and they either dont work, or do not achieve what I want (at least the free ones anyway-- could not find any torrents to try before I buy)

Have you actually tried what I am trying to do ? and If you are SURE you know a plugin that is good for this , please let me know !

OK so i revised and searched for SCRATCH RTAS, and found what I need ( i think ) -- The first thing i noticed was SERATO.. I know that they have the program that can control mp3s like viny; (same as Traktor) .. I noticed these programs::

Serato Pitch N Time Pro 2.4
serato scratch studio edition

which should do me just fine!! will find out soon

On radio edits they do not use a stop/brake effect. They simply reverse that section of audio.

As I mentioned before, yes the reverse effect is used often. but more so in the 90s. modern music mainly uses the brake pedal effect. I can name a million radio versions of songs that do....

Lil Keke - Im A G
Soulja Boy - Crank That
Flo-Rida - Get Low
Ying Yang Twins - Get Low

should I go on ?

listen to the radio... you will hear it

why don't you just cut out the cuss word and place the sound your looking for at that time interval using an audio sequencer, it's really just about how it sounds right? or are you planning on doing this live so you need to simulate that type of control using digital rather than analog. When censoring a non realtime piece of audio you don't need anything more than basic wave editing software i.e. cubase, logic, pro tools, soundtrack pro. Then just place whatever sound you want on a different track and bounce them together, hell you could even use ducking if you don't want to alter the original audio file.

Thanks for replying with logical solutions. I have been working on trying to use a sampler to do so, but have not been succesful in getting my samplers to load in pro tools... Halion (VST-Wrapped) and Guru either wont load or run like **** in PT. I havent used rewire in FOREVER so i cant figure out how to get fruity loops rewired to achieve that sound.

(i think i said this in an earlier post ) but this seems to be my best option:::

http://www.serato.com/products/pnt/
Serato Pitch n Time

but I dont have the $ for it right now and cannot find a "try before buy" / AKA pirated version
