hI!!.. I got my equipement 3 months ago..
I got 2 tt's, a mixer and the Gemini CDJ-10 cd deck....

well, the tt's are PERFECT... so is the mixer...
but i got dissapoined by the CDJ-10...

So here's my problem... I find the beat starting point by using the search buttons... but when i press the CUE or PLAY button, it takes A LOT OF TIME to start playing!.. i mean i have to "PLAY/CUE/PLAY/CUE" several times untill i get the beat where I want it!...so.. that's really annoying, isnt it!?? ;-P

I also use the BPM Studio on my pc, and it works much better than the cdj-10!... When I click the play button it starts *INSTANTLY*!!!!!!!!!...

sO..WHAT AM I GONNA DO?? :(

Do all the CDJ's have that problem, or the more expensive ones just like the Pioneer CDJ500s or CDJ700 etc are just like or even better than the BPM Studio?

Please help me :)
Bye bye!

Hello kflynt!

Hope I can help.

Sorry to be the one to give u the bad news but that's pretty much the way of the cdj-10! They're entry level,no pitch bend, it's basically a domestic cd player with pitch adj. and cue facilities, but other than that...

But the good news is: top-of-the-range (even mid-level) players from Numark, Denon, Pioneer, Tascam and even Gemini have muuuch faster start times, say less than 0.01 second and if u try'em u'll LOVE'em at once. I'd say the CDJ 100S from Pio is a good choice for begginers - easy, fast, precise and compact. Go ahead and try it for yourself.

Good luck and best regards.

The only real advantage of the CDJ10 is that it pushes you to learn to beatmatch with the pitch only (there are no pitchbend buttons, so you don't have a choice). Eventually you'll want to beatmatch that way (it's better cuz you don't really hear when you are adjusting the beats)
