Would someone be willing to help explain all the features of the ttx and how to use them....I would be so thankful, I just made the jump from and old pair of Gemini xl 500's to these Numarks, and Im a bit overwhelmed...thanks

Dude...

read the manual

sometimes i wonder bout you people:confused:

its not that hard..

Why? Its just a turntable like any other

Features and how to use them:

BPM Counter:
Press the bpm button to flick between the BPM or the pitch difference on the display.

33, 45, 78 RPM:
Press 33 to spin at 33 revolutions per minute
Press 45 tp spin at 45 revolutions per minute
Press both 33 and 45 to spin at 78 revolutions per minute

Quartz:
Press the quartz button to lock the pitch at 0%. No matter what the pitch slider is at, the outgoing pitch will be 0%

Key Lock:
Key Lock keeps the track in the same key even if you adjust the pitch.

(e.g normally a vocal would sound like chipmunk if you sped it up say 10% however with key lock you can speed it up/down however much you want with the vocal staying the same)

Key lock can only be used if the switch on the bottom of the turntable is set to line, and the turntable is plugged into line on the mixer. (obviously the relevant mixer channel must be set to line to)

10%+/-, 20%+/-, and 50%+/- Pitch:
Press the pitch button by the display to change the pitch slider range to 10, 20 or 50%.

Hope this helps keep messing around enough and im sure you'll get it, e-mail me if you have any problems/queries.

^you can also select the pitch to +/-8% by pressing and holding the pitch button

hey john :hello: i didnt know u were here :P

TTX's

To those of you that gave me a helpful response, thanks...DJ H20 THANKS SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME THE INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT IDEA OF READING THE MANUAL!!!!!

I just dont understand the quartz lock...and key lock and that stuff. When I got my gemini's I was first starting out and didnt care much to figure that stuff out, I just wanted to start scartching and what not. ...

when you hit the quartz lock, all it does is virtually moves the pitch control to zero.
so no matter where the pitch fader is, the pitch will be at zero, until you take quarts lock off.

key lock is a little more complicated.
to use it, you have to have the turntable switched to 'line' (underneath the table where the plugs go)
then for example you have a track playing at -10% and it sounds really slow, and low-'pitched', if you hit key lock and move the pitch control to +10%, then it will be playing a lot faster, but the 'pitch' (key, technically) will stay the same, thus locking the key.

[edit]: basically what it does is prevent the 'chipmunk' syndrome :P

hope that helped :)
