New to the game, Need a MAC soundcard

Hi, I've always played rock n roll (guitar mainly) but want to start learning the ways of computer based electronic music. I want learn to do my own beats, sequencing, remixing etc. Obviously i'm going to need a soundcard if i want to input/output my songs. I have a Mac g4 450mhz with 256 RAM and plenty of hard drive space. I'm on a tight budget but at the same time do not want to sacrifice for a shitty card. Any recommendations or sites that could help me? thanks!

i have a g4 aswell and, well, bought a digi 001 and it is great. But u know what? I only really use 2 of the potential 8 inputs. At the moment. I could have bought the cheaper card out by the same company. The company's name is Digidesign and all shops know that. The cheaper card is...hmmm forget exactly, but starts with "Audio_____". Good hunting.
