In FL Studio, whenever I use Sytrus or FL Slayer or 3xOsc, etc, the sound keeps on going, i.e. I'll make a pattern using SYtrus and when the pattern is done playing the sound from Sytrus will keep droning on during the rest of the song. Same with a lot of other plugins...

Can anyone explain to me how to stop this..?

Send notes to piano roll. If that doesn't work, you have to turn down the sustain.

Having same problem. Please help!

I have noticed sometimes that if you are doing live MIDI recording, you can go into the piano roll and make sure the last note ends before the bar ends. That sometimes solves the problem.

However I'm putting down a Fruity Slayer track completely in step mode, and it still sustains indefinitely.

Previous post says turn down sustain. How???

Thanks,
Chris

Go to the channel settings box (click on the name of the channel to bring it up). Click the 'INS' tab, and turn down the knob labled 'sustain'

Jay_Jizle,

Thanks for the quick reply.

However with the FL Slayer, there is no INS tab. Is there something else for FL Slayer (and other aforementioned plugins)?

Thanks,
Chris

I found my solution at least for Slayer. Just turned off the Hold knob in the upper right. Have yet to see what I can do with other plugins that want to sustain indefinitely.

Thanks,
Chris

This may sound weired but it works for me. Take the initial sound that you want, send it to the piano roll and at the very end of that sound write another bar of the sound (for effiency puposes, shorten it so it's just a dot or "square"), then right click on that "square" and turn the volume on it all the way down to 0 (silent). That will stop the initial sound from sustaining at the point where it hits the silent "square" . You can also slide that silent "square" over as far right as you want to extend as much of the inital sound as you want. You get me? I know this must sound difficult and confusing (and believe me, there may be a better way), but trust, it is sooooo easy.

Hope this helps.:) Let me know if it worked out for you.

Where is this HOLD knob you are talking about?
This sustaine issue is pissing me off, and the adding another bar of silence in the piano roll makes the guitar end like poopoo.
