I wanna remix the song "roc boys" in Ableton Live.
Everyone told me it is very easy to do that in Live.
So i load the accapella and live detects a bpm of 120.
I used the Tap button of my keyboard and i found out it is around 97 bpm.I tried it again with the original song und guess what ... bpm 120.
How can I detect the BPM correctly ?

Sorry for my English ... I'm from Europe

Pellas are hard for Live to get right.
Go by the tab function.
Then use warp markers to get everything to line up
better.

Go to You Tube and search for (Using warp markers in Ableton Live)

because it automatically warps it and set it to 120 by default...if you tapped out 97, roll with it...if you do this with another beat, it will warp to a bpm of 120...

Ok,
thanks for your answer. Now I'm realizing how powerfull Live is.
Let say I got the pella with 97 BPM and i have done my instrumental with 89 and now with the warp function i can easily match them, right ?

You also need to make sure live is set to warp audio and you can change the type of way it is being warped. It is set to beats ( drum loops ) by default if you switch it to something with a little more control over the markers you can get a smoother transaction. Also you may want to break the song up into verses and hooks and the hooks usually come in at a little faster bpm then the verse on most tracks.

You may want to start the warper after any intro.
Just start warping at the first down beat after intro.

Same for the pella.
After any ad libs
