Need help getting started (Equipment)

I plan on purchasing FL studio (producer version) a midi controller and a drum machine. I was thinking the Akai mini mk2 for a controller and XR-20. Is it worth it to get the XR-20 since the MK2 has 8 pads already? I don't want to overdue but at the same
Time I'm getting started and would like to have more resources to learn from. Any suggestions or even something completely different than what I mentioned please let me know!
 
i would hold off on the drum machine... i work on mastering fl studio first .. youre going to throw too much at yourself at once
