Wow.....I was super close to joining this site too...smh

Thanks for the warning(& the video) homeboy. Definitely gotta let people know about this. I've seen a little bit of hype about that site and I always thought it looked legit, but now I see nothing but complaints/problems.

LET IT BE KNOWN!!

seems sketchy, i took my beats off of there but one thing i gotta say is that the downloads thing isn't that crazy. i use hulkshare and i got a few downloads on a file where i haven't put the link anywhere, nor have i clicked the link myself. i'd say its probably just a bad idea to put something you only want customers to have on a free sharing site in general.

i haven't seen any complaints which is why i used this place to begin with, should be interesting to see how this plays out. seems like its a better idea not to trust any beat store and just deal with customers yourself

Yes i joined that site in 09. got my 1st beat sale from there for 75$ but ever since mid '10 it went downhill...first with the beat slot rates//from 10$ to $99? [luckily i got mine when it was 10] then [but prob before i joined] the payment were OOOFFF..i sold a beat in mid January and i just got paid march 2nd. Jeff is a dick. i wouldnt recommend business at all with the site to anyone unless you have long periods of time to waste and 100$ to spend on 10 beat slots...

like dude above said...it would be better to go about business directly with the artist.

with beat sites in general u dont even get to see who u sold your beat to...unless u get scam [like i did many times] and they give you the assholes email.

lls my bad i was talking about mybeatshop

The fact that you upload your tracked track to megaupload is shady, its not secure, people might not have the link but that doesn't mean people can't find it. Its just not secure. (dun dun dun)

Thank You for getting people to notice this. I posted it in the general section and saw that It wasn't getting that many views so thank you for beating me to the punch. We need to let every producer know that this site is NOT legit. When they fix all of their problems then it might be a good place to sell but right now its too shady. I'm trying to get in contact with "Track Officialz" because they are having the same problem, "someone" is jacking their beats. If they reply to my email I will post it on this forum. Once again, THANK YOU AND SPREAD THE WORD!!

I don't know that was kind of shady evidence for it being a scam....a little weird but I'm not sure I would jump to it being a scam immediately unless I saw Lil Young Jack rapping to my track at a show, or The Real Housewives of Kalamazoo having a fist fight with my beat in the soundtrack.

What do you call it when you pay for a service and they don't deliver? Look at it like this. You go to a storage company to store some electronic goods that won't fit in your garage. When you first put your goods in storage you had....lets say 300 DVD players. You come back three weeks later and you only have 200. The only people that have the key to your storage is you and the storage company and YOU haven't sold one. So who sold/stole em?? The process of elimination makes it easy to see what's going on.

I'd be interested in hearing if this site actually WORKED for anybody. May just be a honest problem(doubt it, but possibly).

Can anybody vouch??

I can vouch that it DIDN't work. I used it on my SC site thinking that I could automate my business. I didn't trust the track out's to megaupload and decided that i'd only sell trackouts / execlusives via direct contract with the artist. SO i didn't even receive proper notification of sales from MyflashStore instead i just saw money entering my pay pal account. Needless to say i had to go around manually sending e-mails to customers who were ANGRY with me. I hit up the creator / IT manager of the website i told him what was going on about a week later he gets back to me saying "he doesn't know" whats going on. I wouldn't flat out say this website is a SCAM though. I think that it is very unreliable but the home page shows their top sellers for the day / month and it updates quite regularly i've even emailed some of the cats and got confirmation that the site does indeed work. It's just not reliable so its up to you if you wanna take a chance on it.

The fact that they have you host your files on Megashare should be strikes 1, 2, or 3 right there. If they're making money on people's beats they should be able to afford there own servers.

Makes me think I should code up something real quick in Flash to keep you guys from getting scammed by these snake oil salesmen.

a couple months back i was thinking of using that too.....sheesh

Hmmm...........

I really don't know what to make of these accusations. I've been using the *paid* service for over a year with little to no problems. The only problems I've dealt with were along the lines of customers not receiving their beats because of their beats ending up in their spam box.

When it comes to using megaupload......well, megaupload claims to not make their files available for public access but I'm sure someone, somewhere prob has a way around this....with that said, is it honestly the store's fault?? I have a solution for this tho, when u zip your session, password lock it, then after your sale email your customer directly the pass to open the session. Now you control the access.

Problem-solved. :victory:

Exactly. People just wanna scream SCAM when something doesn't work right, or they don't understand how things work.

I can't tell you how many people who purchased things from my store started yelling SCAM and FRAUD and reporting me to paypal, just because the email with the download link went to their spam box.

I even had one fool claim he bought the wrong beat, and wanted to return it. I told him NO, because there was no way you can return a digital file, because you still HAVE IT.

He reported me to paypal, and they ruled in HIS FAVOR!!!

The MyFlashStore.net creator created my store from scratch. I host my own files on my own site. Everything is controlled by me, and it works perfectly.

Why? Because I INVESTED in my business instead of trying to build a business on FREE tools.

Other people should do the same, and stop yelling SCAM just because they are doing something wrong.

The guy who runs that site is a good dude. He went above and beyond when he was creating my store for me. I vouch for the guy.

Servers cost alot of money...especially dedicated servers. And especially when you have hundreds of people uploading potentially THOUSANDS of files that are at least 1GB each (full track outs). That can get you up into the multiple Terabyte range really quickly.

Not only that, the bandwidth on uploading and downloading those huge files, not to mention the regular beat traffic...it can get really expensive, really quick.

Not everyone on the net is a millionaire.

^ So is the call that this is a megaupload problem and not a myflashstore problem?

I mean what are the chances that people dig around megaupload looking for tracked out files? lol Unless it was clearly labeled, how could you even tell what you were downloading?

SFTraxx solution seems legit, but still not everyone is doing/going to do that.

Is ole boy in the video just a fluke?

I guess other people would have to step forward and report similar ish before you could really tell..

If you as a business offer a solution and outsource something that's connected to you, you are still at fault when that third party doesn't come through correct.

You are the one that designs your business logistics... only thing you can do is make sure MFS.com knows about the issue....If they are legit, they won't be satisfied with a faulty system and they will act upon that, if they only care about their short-term money stream they will not act upon it.
