MPC 500 Questions

i have a couple of questions about the MPC 500. I have had it for a year now, and I dont get much use out of it anyomre. I use my midi controller almost exclusively, but I'd like to use the MPC more. 2 questions:


1. Do you find many practical uses for the MPC if you do not sample (I know, why did I even get it?)?

2. What are some of the big differences between the MPC 500 and, say, the 1000? Is sampling easier? Is chopping easier?

I would really like to get some good use out of it, but I gave up sampling, and I find it collecting more dust thatn anything.

Well its a pocket sequencer, just load up sounds on an sd card and have at it, doesn't have to be samples.

16 pads vs 12 pads.
More features especially with the jjos
Easier editing, but what I like about the 500 is that you edit by ear.
