Just picked up the 2KXL. I have a Duet, Yamaha monitors, and Logic 'cause I record live audio, but now i wanna start making beats. I have my Yamahas connected to my Duet so I can listen to records and recordings on my computer. I wanna be able to monitor both the MPC and computer through the monitors with the Duet. So I was playing on tha MPC and I heard nothing. Do I have to have Logic open when playing a beat? Even if I'm not usin it? I have a L/R 1/4 inch to 1/4 from my MPC stereo outs into the Duet.
What I want is to sample onto the MP then chop it and make the beat with my monitors without even touching the computer.
