"Word on the street is that Mobb Deep is split up and Alchemist got beat up over a beef with Littles. There is no confirmation on this, but apparently the beef is over beats. In the past, Alchemist has sold the same beat twice, as he did to Ras Kass ("Home Sweet Home") and Jadakiss ("We Gonna Make It"). Prodigy is said to have sided with Littles, while Havoc is with the Alchemist, who had to cancel radio interviews beacuse of the incident. We'll keep you updated as events develop"

Alchemist beat up?!?!?! That's deep man man. Selling same beats? Wow!

Damn, Alchemist that's messed up.

Alchemist - "This beat is fire dawg, it's an orginal"

Artist - "Word? Good looking out!"

Alchemist - "This beat is fire dawg, it's an orginal"

Mobb Deep was supposed to be a part of The Riflemen with Kurupt, Jayo Felony and 40 Glocc...
another set back for Jayo....

they last single was wak

I'm with traxx. I know they have to feed their family and all but it is sad that the group that brought us "shook ones" and "quiet storm" is now making wack songs like "real gangstaz" with Lil John. Sad indeed :(

the writing was on the wall for mobb deep back in 2000 when prodigy dropped 'keep it thoro' and the best havoc could do over it was muttering some bullsh!t chorus on a b-side remix.. im suprised they kept up appearances this long.

they had a good run tho.

Havoc is a hot producer, but what the fukk is Prodigy going to do!

You have to be careful with all the smack that's talked about Mobb Deep, though, as well.

Younghove was right to quote the source of the reported news item but you'd have to wonder whether they had even remotely accurate data to report on about any genuine rift. I'm always wary of "online" news pages that cite the word on the street. Which street.......probably half an hour's drive from my house.

I can't belive you guys actually believe this

That's an easy statement to make AFTER it's confirmed as just a rumour.

This topic has been coming up often lately, but it's been reported on for a minute. I guess people have been slow on this news or something. Anyway, here's my take (copied from another thread).

https://www.futureproducers.com/forums/showthread/threadid/88787

I hear they aren't, who knows though. It's supposedly stemming from an incident with their manager and Alchemist. They got in an altercation and P. and Havoc were taking different sides. Their manager ain't with them no more though. And last I heard P. and Havoc were denying any rumors of a fall out. Nobody denies the scrap with Alchemist and dude though.

I think it's deeper than that **** though. We brought em out for a show here and they didn't seem like they were really eye to eye. And that was like back in July. At the hotel, soundcheck, radio, all that. They didn't seem to be vibing the whole time. I mean they were, but at times you could sense some frustration with eachother. Anyhow, that was just what I was feeling.

Either way, if the last album is indication of how things have shaped up with their music, P. should fall back and play the position. Havoc carried Amerikaz Nightmare. ONE.

I agree. I used to be the biggest Mobb Deep fan. They peaked with Murder Muzik. Prodigy disaapointed me with the solo joint(Keep it thoro was hot) and he's been falling ever since. Havoc will go down as one of the best ever when it comes to grimy production but some of his latest synthesizer joints aint cutting it. He can make money producing(He produced Jada's smash "Why"). Prodigy on the other hand will continue to spit and search in vain to be taken seriously as a real thug. Jay Z killed him with that line"You little fuk, I got money stacks bigger than you" In his prime though P was nice painting those vivid ghetto pictures and his wordplay was clever.
