do you think labels would be okay with clearing industry instrumentals for a mixtape, if it was set that all profits went to the original writers/producers/artists as if it were just a compilation? I'm looking to just get teh promotional benefits from this

yea I'm thinking people would love an extra shot at royalties, especially since I plan to dig up some stagnant joints

but some people might just be a hater about it lol

if your sellin less than 5000 copies no one will probably ever notice, and if all the sales are under the table, not recorded in stores, or if they are, only mom&pops stores, you'll be fine, just say you handed them out for free

The idea of mixtapes is that its promotional use only. You don't have to clear anything as long as it says For Promotional Use Only, on the cover, inside cover or on the CD itself.
