mixing and mastering

I have never used Fl studio. I only have FL on my telephone. I use pro tools 8. But in theory if something works in pro tools 8 its gotta work in Fl studio right?

My advise is that you don't use any FX's or EQ to start with. Just try to move the faders up and down until it all sounds good.

Experiment with moving your speakers about the room, or using different headphones.

Don't worry if your mix don't sound exactly like the latest Rhianna single, because the man who mixes that gets paid a lot of money to just do that one thing.

To be honest the best thing is to pace yourself in installments. Try to mix as well as a bad mixer first, then one who is a bit better and so on. If you compare your music to hit singles you will be disappointed.

But if you pace yourself, one day you will be like me, disappointed because your so much more talented then the crappy chart records etc.. and that you wish you could find someone better then you, so you knew what it was like to not be the best again....
