Tomorrow i'm going to get my new Nova module and would appreciate some advice on the set-up of getting it to play in sync with my other kit.

I have the following;

RM1x (Preferably used as the sequencer for everything else)
A4000 Sampler
Nova (Yyyiiipppeee !)
PC Running;
Cubase (When it works)
Fruity Loops
+ Rebirth

What i want is to be able to hit play on the RM1x and have each piece of kit respond.

At present my RM1x is only triggering my sampler (RM1X OUT to A4000 IN), would it just be as simple as connecting the MIDI Thru of the A4000 to the MIDI IN on the Nova, and the MIDI Thru of the Nova to my PC (Midi IN) ?

I'm pretty sure the above will work as far down the chain as the Nova, but i have real trouble setting up and sync'ing with PC applications.

Any advice on this would be a massive help.

Cheers

Rich.

you know what the best would be?

since you have several devices, you should do this:

. get a MIDIMAN USB SPORT 8x8 (or at least 4x4) midi interface
. plug th einterface to your PC
. plug each device on it's own port on the MIDI interface
. get a sequencer such as Cubase 5 or Logic or Cakewalk
. write all your music on the computer
. use the computer to control everything

You're probably right, and that is what i'll do with all new projects.

The thing is i have a lot of tracks half completed sequenced in the RM1x which would be a lot of hassle transferring into Cubase as midi (CC's and PC changes galore !). Therefore i want to leave these as they are for now until i come to record everything.
