Maschine Set Up would this work

I`m thinking of buying a maschine for a basic bedroom set up, the question i would like answering if possible is. i only have a laptop with asio drivers and a jbl speaker system i know its not ideal but its a starting point until i can afford some good monitors and a mbox.

would this work to get me started making beats, the maschine is on special offer of £399 until 31 March

Um it should, your pc or whatever software you makin music on might lag depending on how loud certain sounds is and how many you use anyways if the maschine is usb yes it shhould work as long as the proper drives installed if it was an mpc you'd probly need monitors and an mbox to get sound from the mpc to your computer but since maschine is usb you should be ok!
