Hey Guys,
I'm a bit confused between those 2 configurations.
There opinions on both sides, and i don't know what to decide.
Since i won't be able to upgrade the retina in a few year with 16 ram and better CPU, i thought maybe i should take the NON-retina (mid 2012) with i7 2.9/4/500 and upgrade it by myself with 500gb instead of DVD + 256 ssd + 16 gb ram.
What is better for music production and performing?
Is the basic retina 8gb/i5 haswell will be enough (or even better than non-retina i7 2.9 ivy bridge)? Or should i take the non-retina with all of those updates?
My uses are for Cubase plugins, Kontakt, Ableton live performing etc...
My sound card is Motu Ultralite (FireWire only) - so i'll have to buy an Thunderbolt adapter to Firewire in order to use it with my Motu, which is another con....
I don't know what to decide... please help
