looking for technical advice on new melbourne track [f4f]

this is the track:

i tried to copy the sounds i heard in some of the tracks, and i have

a pad
main bass
counter bass
sub bass

for the four parts i learned from bandcoach.
i also tried to incorporate transitions.

how can i improve my song making skills?
do i need a fatter synth?

any advice is appreciated.
