looking for specific mix feedback

Rough draft of a mix I'm working on. Really happy with the instrumental mix, but I think the vocals sound weak. When I make them louder it doesn't help. Also I am not sure if my little "*****" "shit" "nigga" shout outs are balanced right, or if I made them jump out a bit too much.. panning comments on those would be really appreciated too. Thanks much!

Here's the the thing about mixing there's no real way to do it right. There's lots of ways of doing it wrong, but once you've stopped doing things wrong there's a whole lot of personal preference.

I would actually just boost the high end of the vocal track a little, so it shines over the track. Your shouts outs are how ever a little louder than the vocal. I'm not sure if that is what you are going for but if you weren't just lower them a few db

the mix is pretty decent from my point of view, good look with that young dro

put a eq then compressor on the beat...make sure its atleast a 4 band eq and put a shelf in 2.4khz (with q as wide as possible)bring it down about 2-4 db then in the compressor bring it down about 10-20 db on the threshhold n tweak the ratio accordingly...this will definitely bring your vocals out...might need to turn the beat up a bit after but it will be alot more transparent

oh and do a hi-pass starting from around 230-250 hz on your vocal bus...lotta low end on them vocals
