Looking for a good quality synth

Been looking around for a good quality hardware synth.
Those who catched my eye was the MS-10 and some juno synths for the price and appearance.
But i have no idea of the quality.
Anyone got exprinces they want to share about hardware synths both old and new?

Thanks in advance.

A warning about vintage synths (especially Junos), things often break on them, and they are difficult and expensive to repair. As far as what synth is right for you, what are you looking for? Just analog synth sounds? Polyphony? budget? size? analog? These preferences can help narrow it down.

A synth with oscillators, envelope, modulation controlled with knobs, sliders or wires.
budget would be $500 USD

You can get a Dave Smith Mopho for close to that budget if you get it used off ebay.
If you don't need a keyboard there are a lot more options like the Doepfer Dark energy.
If you really want to go vintage then the price range might limit you from the more reliable knobby analogs. About the only ones you can get for around that are the Yamaha CS (10-15-20) series of synths.
