Logic Pro x track stack question

Hey guys was wondering if you can help me?

I have been trying to learn about busses and sends and auxs, but just watched a tutorial on summoning track stacks and it's got me confused,

Is a track stack used just to group things together and apply fx only in that group? For example layering basses then applying eq compression together to gel them together better? Is this a bus?

I'm trying to put fx on different tracks but using the same fx unit is that called a send?

Cheers

Track stacks are aux tracks that group together sounds that you decide "sure, let's put these under the same fader". If you use similar sounds it's useful because 1 - you can apply any plugins you want to them (like EQ, distortion, etc) and 2 - you can use a single midi region and it'll apply it to all of them. Throw your reverb FX onto a different bus then use the small bus volume knobs to send your individual tracks that way.
