I am a lover of all/most of the rap songs that have 60s/70s background music, I believe rap enthusiasts call this "old school"? I would like to get a list of all of the rap songs ever made that fit the above, can anyone guide me to any forum or other where I might be able to get such a list? I would like to get all of those songs for my collection, thanks.

thats like a couple of thousands songs man!!! just buy anything from arika bambatta, heavy d, nwa, public enemy, de la soul, kool herc, eric b and rakim, then you should have a nice collection and then just keep your eyes open for other pioneers of hip hop and get stuff from them

Well, what I am looking for really are the songs that have "famous" 60/70's background music but also newer music, how about I start a list here of all that I have so far so you all can see what I am talking about and then maybe just add anything you think may fit?

1] Hey Ma- Camron [From Commodore's "Easy"].

2] We trying to stay alive-Wyclef Jean [From Bee Gees's Staying Alive].

3] A message for your mind-Rappin 4-Tay [ From Jackson 5's I want you back].

4]Mr.Lonely-Akon [From Bobby Vinton's Mr.Lonely].

5] Changes-Tupac [From Bruce Hornsby's That's just the way it is].

6] I'll be around-Rappin 4-Tay [From Spinner's I'll be around].

7] I'll be missing you-Puff Daddy [From The Police's Every breath you take].

8] Kung Fu Fighting-Bus stop [From Carl Douglas's Kung Fu fighting].

9] Mo money mo problems-Notorious B.I.G [From Diana Ross's I'm coming out].

10] My place-Nelly [From Teddy Pendergrass's Come on over to my place].

11] People Everyday-Arrested Development [From their original hit Everyday People].

12] True Love-Jennifer Lopez and LL Cool J. [From Luther Vandross's Got to tell you].

13] O.P.P-Naughty by Nature [From Jackson 5's ABC].

14] Everything's gonna be alright-Naughty by Nature [From Bob Marley's Eevrything's gonna be alright.

15] No woman no cry-Fugees [From Bob Marley's No woman no cry].

That's all I have right now guys, so from the list above I hope you can see that I am looking for rap versions of famous songs from the past, would really appreciate if anyone could add to this list, thanks.

There are thousands of songs with samples from the 70's. I think you're better off finding it by looking for producers who sample these type of records then look for their discography or a list of the songs they produced. Mostly anything from Camp Lo may have these types of samples. Dont sleep on De La Soul either. They love sampling obscure records from back in the days. Most of the best records to sample come from the 70's. The 60's had more of that Motown & Blues (Stax Records type) sound. The 70's is when the music changed and it got real funky and the instruments changed. When you start buying records is when you really start to learn and say "wow so and so used this on a record". I just found out the other day that Jadakiss joint with the horns(dont know the name) is taken from a movie called Willie Dynamite from the 70's.

Great, will look into those guys, as you mentioned Tupac, I just remembered to add to the list "Keeping ya head up" from the 5 Stairstep's "Ooh Child", thanks.

its 'keep your head up' lol! diplomats push it is another one from salt n pepa push it

Look up Kanye's stuff. Just Blaze too, he samples and makes original stuff. Also look up Bad Boy artist in the 90's. P. Diddy and the Trackmasters were sampling fools!
