Is omni worth it??

Hey guys ,

So recently i've been looking into getting omnisphere however.

I already own sylenth , massive and kontakt.

500$ for a VST is pretty steep and considering all the ones I own i'm not sure if it would really be worth it.


In your opinion would it be worth? Thanks!
 
Hey buddy,

Omnisphere is cool in someways and just downright cheesy and horrendous in others. Depending on what style you're going for Omnisphere has it's uses.

I like using it for its pads and leads, but don't expect to get any good basslines out of it for sure and a lot of the arppegiators are just so cheesy.

Yes it's steep for a VST but it's a quality assured one. I'd say check out ReFX Nexus 2 as well, A lot cheaper and is used a lot more across a lot of genres.

Learn to do sound design

a) you won't have to shell out for omnisphere: although it's good for sound design you can design 99% of sounds you would want using what you already have.
b) you won't be making music using the same presets everyone else is
