Hip hop is DIRECTLY responsible for this. It's not even about race...it's just about dumbass mofo's who seriously try to emulate everything they hear on a record, and what's worse is the rappers who TRY to be gangsta. Seriously, the whole gangster image is really stale now. East, west, south, north, whatever. Dudes can't even talk right anymore...I work in the damn suburbs, and still, we get the usual losers who try and be 'gangster'. Nice try buddy, but you're in the SUBURBS. Atleast rappers like Kanye (as much as i'd like to hate) is doing something to change this.

/End Rant

I work at a restaurant...and some dude with a grill comes in asking for a job. Dude couldn't even speak correctly...and this dude wants a job? are you serious kid?

on a serious notes...those grills look rediculous...not only do you embarass me...ur making hip hop look even worse...as if it wasn'[t bad enuff at this point.

Whatever..besides my point was I hate WANNABE'S.

Nevermind I thought you was talkin about gangster rappers

This is what gets me about hip hop. I really understand those who are real gangsters, Supreme, some real dudes in Compton, numerous other places.

But what gets me, is I live on the northside of da Chi. I know this kid, i`ve known him for a good 6 years now. He was 18, and in highschool like 6 years ago. Who do I see a couple of days ago? The same kid walking around my neighborhood trying to be a gangster, along with his buddy following him. Probably still lives with his mom, and I know he runs around with a couple of guys that wanna say their gangsters.

Whats my point? As a result of these kids idolizing hip hop stars, you have middle class kids trying to act like they have nothing. Trying to act like they dont care, trying to act like they "have to do this." Its just so stupid to me.

Still, big ups to da real gangsters out there, I mean, of course I dont like what they do, but at least their real.

In my oppinion though, gangs are stupid, straight up.

I agree. Plus (No offense) but ALOT of other races are convinced that we're (blacks) SUPPOSED to be all gangsta and stuff..I get called white because I don't act that way.

Gangsta glorification is one of the reasons why black America is in the situation they're in know..... Everyone wants to be hard......

It wasn't I.... I'll co-sign for you on this topic.... Gangsta glorification has affect almost every aspect of black culture..... It has gone too far...

That's arguable. But I feel you.

Anyway... The HipHop culture suffers from all of this too because outsiders see us as a reflection of the music getting the most attention right now. And we ARE! But, the thing that people don't understand is, not everybody in hiphop culture or amongst the black community experience the same thing. But it's hard to convince people because 1: People are naive, and 2: Execs are giving the most light to the artists who choose to talk about coke, being "gangsta" and "real" because of it's growing (now declinging) popularity. I refuse to believe that, right now, coke/gangsta rappers are grinding harder than any other rappers in the game! It's damn near rediculous to even imply. Truth is, sadly, that negativity in the black community is lucrative to the record companies. People like Nas say hiphop is dead is because niggas (in the spotlight) don't see that their actions alone, can reflect on our entire generation, race, and cultural image, in a society that still has an opened wound from stereotyping, racism and inequality towards blacks! And it bleeds through the bandage frequently. So yes, it really does have a lot to do with race. Niggas are making black folks look bad!

I take offense to white people telling me that I "sound/talk white!" Because their "insiders" to the black community (BET/Magazines/Clubs/Radio) tell them that all niggas use the same words and have trouble forming a meaningful sentence! I've done and still do some grimey shyt sometimes, but I don't glorify it because it's nothing to boast about.

I fault NO individual who is a victim of circumstance, and has to do whatever possible to feed they're fam. But if you don't have to do it anymore, DON'T! There's nothing cool about misleading the people you represent! Niggas are dying because rappers are glorifying their past with present tense!

Yet, I'm bettin' dude is avid with the tough guy mentality. If you stand up for yourself, believe, the thug is dominant.

Yeah I can relate. My younger brother and his friends idolized the stars to a degree (their image) Really, it's doing nothing for them on a positive level. There bad at it too. Really, that's kind of ironic statement on here too. Becaus emost of you would jump on the opportunity to work with some of those who you describing.

Nothing pisses me off more, than wannabe, fake-@ss thugs wearing a fake platinum chain hanging down to their nutsack, hat kicked to the side (sticker still on the bill of course), shirt touching the bottom of their kneecaps and HUGE, obviously fake, "diamond" earings. Just becasue their favorite rapper does the same. You don't have to dress like a clown just because you listen to rap music! I don't put on high heels and spandex pants when I listen to Prince. Everybody just wants to be everybody else. It's really pathetic.

There's a lot of them on here too. hahahaha I had to say it. You know who you are.

4 real...rappers need to start tellin kids to go to school and do somethin with ur life

about the suburbs... i no some ppl that live in some suburbs an their pretty hard...only reason: they wanted to be 'gangsta' so do everything they can to get that respect...result: much unneeded violence

look at common instead of k. west

i have to disagree with the grill part, its just retarded wen rappers get permanent diamonds in their teeth...lil flip

people, people, people. what the hell happened to self responsibility. u cant blame hip hop. nobody is forced to do anything. its always easy to blame something else beside urself. as i can remember the bloods and the crips , jewerly and all this other crap was here and glorified b4 hip hop came along

If you think you get called white just imagine what they call me...And I love every minute of it...
