if rap beats are simple for lyrics...how come pop and r and b isnt simple?

Question? Why are you using words like simple? As if playing chords increases some difficulty level or something? A hit is a hit. A person who thinks a beat makes a hit is lost and confused. And so they will end up stuck thinking of beats in terms of difficulty levels. Never to appreciate songs in all of it's genius even if it is "simple". Because it is all a "game" to them.
 
music is as difficult as u make it
also simple doesnt mean less skill
in the end it doesnt matter how simple something is, what matters is if it sounds good.
 
whether a beat is simple or not depends on the artist. if it's a highly skilled rapper the beat should be simple so they have space to tear the track up, if the rapper is less technically proficient it should be more involved to cover up their deficiencies IMO.
