I originally made this tutorial for my website, but felt it would be better off here..
I'm using the free JJ OS, FL Studio 9, an M-Audio Keystation 49e, and a USB to Midi cable.
1. On your MPC 1000 press the [MODE] key then [PAD 9] (MIDI/SYNC)
Screen may look different depending on OS.
2. In FL9 press F10 to bring up the Midi Settings
Under the 'Output' menu select your midi interface and click on the 'Send master sync' box. Then under the 'Input' menu enable both your midi interface and keyboard.
3. Done
Now FL will play alongside your MPC when you press the [PLAY START] button.
To avoid latency issues make sure you have a decent soundcard with the ASIO drivers installed. Also note when you change the tempo on the MPC or in FL you'll have to do it on the other. If you want to use the 'Input Thru' function you'll need JJ OS2XL. Otherwise you'll need a mixer.
