How to set up my midi keyboard?

I bought a Behringer UMX490 and a Tascam US-122mkii soundcard which came with Cubase Le 5. The guy at the store told me that I didn't need to buy any other cables. So I connected the Behringer with my computer via USB and the Tascam with my computer also via USB. I opened Cubase, but the Behringer was producing no sound. The sounds of my computer were going out through the Tascam. What's the problem? Do I need to connect the Behringer's midi out with the Tascam's midi in with a midi cable?

Is Cubase showing you any lights or anything when you press keys? If not, you may need to check that you don't have a USB port conflict. Need more info about the computer you're using. What OS?
