how to reset mpc 2000xl

I reacently put the new o.s in my 2000xl and now it wont let me turn it on with out that disk in there and when i try to load some drums it cant read the disk anymore i just want to reset my Xl to the original.

The newest OS should be able to run WITHOUT the startup disk. Try reinstalling the OS again.

lollol...im a fan of the search button, as opposed to over crowding witih threads that already have answers... but its just insert the disk while turning the machine on and hold the window button? correct?
