I saw an interview that said that Pete Rock and 9th Wonder make around 25 to 30 beats a week... or at least Pete Rock used to.

How often do u guys make beats?

You gotta understand most of these guys do this for a living not just when they feel like it or have time to, so if you figure 16 working hours each day devoted soley to beats, 4 to 5 a day isn't too much of a stretch.

With that said I do maybe 3 to 4 beats a week(finished)

i wish my job was making music all day i can only imagine the possibilities

i used to push about 3 a day.... now its 1 ever 3/4 days..... the beats be finished but i take about 2 days to mix

I could make 3 or 4 in a day easily even with work and kids if I wanted to. Honestly though I make that many in a week most of the time

thats a diffrent world like kree summers! ,, i guess you deserve to do those numbers? ,,, I try to make atleast 1 a day....but I usually end up tweaking 1 or 2 all week....

Damn, I wish I could do that. It's me myself doing all the work over here. I don't have the time to focus on beatmaking to make beats since im always mixing/mastering/promoting/working etc..

back when i was in highschool I knew this cat who would alway send me beats for my opinion he would have like a new beat or two everyday. MY self, where i am in life now am very lucky to even make a beat.

Beats are easy to make if it's a four bar loop with one melody with layers sounds and drums. I see people doin that all the time on beatmaking videos. But it's rare those are actually good beats. (ex: Say Something)

I make beats that have very different choruses or verses and I spend a lot of time perfecting them. I always ask myself what can be better and until I really can't think of anything I keep workin on it.

So 1 a week. Sometimes none.

Yeeeezy lol, but do you think he really did that?? For me man I'm lucky to finish a beat a day, i usually try and push like 3/week. I bring my laptop to school and shit, try to do some stuff there too.

I'm noticing a trend here... seems like a lot of cats take the easy answer of "my beats are more complicated so I don't make that many beats. I'm kinda in the same boat, but I'm trying to get out of that boat.

I feel like if ur a producer in the truest form you can bang out heat real quick... and I never used to feel that way. I used to think if the beat is hot it doesn't matter how long it takes. But I'm to the point where I think there is a gray area in between banging out quick beats and over analyzing things to the point of listening to a loop for hours. Weed doesn't help this.

I want to work with lots and lots of artists... this "beat or two" a week thing just ain't cutting it. It would be a wet dream to produce 5 beats a day on top of my 40 hour a week job. The trick is to not let it hinder the final product as much as possible.

Who moved this thread? I've been making beats for ten years... I ain't "gettin started"

Plus who cares how many beats a day a noob makes? Move this thread back... it was in the right section.

It really does depend on what kind of beat it is... compositions and whatnot

I use to crack out about 3 to 4 a day untill I started school. then Those numbers turned into 3 to 4 a week.

Now that my equipment is acting up those numbers turned into 3 to 4 a month... smh...

i could make two in a day but it take ages to find the one you want to keep or perfect
