How long did it take you to sell your first beat?

It took me about 3 weeks to sell one. Then there was nothing for 3 months or so. It got better from time to time.
I don't think you should expect to much of yourself. Most of the producers in here have been making music for many years (even decades). You've been making beats for only 7 months. You basically don't have enough experience, no matter how good your beats sound. You need to do this for years.
Selling beats is another thing though:
If you promote the right way, you will get clients.

I never tried previously selling an instrumental, people just came to me.

I today don't even create beats, I create music.

When I didn't have any money for a bill, and wanted to scoop some extra change, I picked up my phone and called my dude.

So it'd say, less than a minute..

I was making beats for 2 years before i sold my first one, i was concentrating more on getting better than selling beats which i think is important.

It took me sometime.... PROMOTION IS THE KEY!!! Dont complain about beat sales if you're only getting 30 - 100 plays a day... Relationships is the Key... People would radther buy from some they know than someone they dont.... Focus on Relationships now, sales are goin to follow. And thats why having a Mailing list is a good move for your business.
