This is going to be difficult to ask..............................

Ok so your spinning a set at about 140bpms you want to spin a record at about 135bpm or 130bpm so it doesent sound all chipmonk like.(I like to keep records inbetween 0% pitch and 4%pitch on most records so the song donsn't sound fast.)

So you need to get the record thats playing solwed down by about 3% pitch. If you just move the pitch fader it will change the pitch of the record and make a wah sound anp people look at you funny. So how do you slow it down?

Whenever I do a set I like to build up: get faster. If there is record I want to play in a set and I know its slower than others then I play it before them. But your best bet would be to do it during a break, bit by bit, or down by 1% on every other bar during some beats.

Just pitch it down where it's not that noticable, ie not during melodic parts, try to fit the changes at a break.

Pitch the record down/up in even increments every 4 or 8 notes. It is noticeable but it sounds less drastic than just changing the pitch by a lot in one go.

this works...

you kinda of rock back and forth the pitch as you move in the direction you want to go (ie faster or slower) the motor will be speeding up and slowing down very quickly and you don't get the wah sound.

im not sure what kinda music you spin...but i spin deep trancey type stuff....you can easily slow down the pitch like 1-2% slowly without anyone noticing....just do it real slowly...its not the kind of thing you want to do while recording, really..but live no one will have a clue unless its a bunch of dj's..
