I am trying to compose a song for a friend that sounds like it would be popular in the ATL right now. What sounds should I play with and stuff like that...?

organ, brass, bells, whistles, 808 kit, fast hi hat, layer the 808 snare and clap....

just listen to some zaytoven beats lol
the most important is that square lead he use in every god damn beat....

Listen to it. If you got selective hearing you should be able to hear every instrument lol.

You must first find your inner Zaytoven......then you will see the way.

or

You could order a Zaytoven Edition Casio for only 299.99!

lol im not tryin to sound like him. i got the same kicks and i been usin them for years

The trick is a simple main melody with an underlying arp that expands on the main melody. Then bring in 1/32 hats and rotator organs or a suybbass that come over the top of the melody at the dramatic moments.

As for the drums...For the life of me, I don't understand why anyone would think dudes drums "knock"They don't sound bad, but any old 808 kit will do. The worse you'll do is get a better set than the one he uses.

lol.

Zaytoven isn't really too complex most of the time. Axxe nailed it down with the basic elements.

that's half of it anyway, the sounds will do half the work, this is probably every trap sound you'll ever need

whenever i produce for any ATL cats i always use the Sylenth VST
