How do you change tones of the kick on the mpc?

I just got the MPC 5000 so im still learning how to use it, I was just wondering how to change the tones of the kick to match a bassline? Can you spread 1 kick on the 16 pads to change tones?
 
You have to increase or decrease the pitch...do it in increments of 10 (10 is a semitone) try 16 levels with the pitch setting to spread the kick
 
hit mode then program... scroll to the kick you wanna edit and change the tone from there bro...

would also help to read the manuel and also YouTube is great for learning things.
